I'm very particular about what I use and am not keen on endorsement deals with companies I don't like. Although I do have (or have had in the past) endorsement deals with some of the companies listed on this page, none of them are exclusive so my opinion is not biased. Some of the equipment was received directly from the makers, some was purchased through normal retailers at no discount. Either way, I play what I like and am very much pleased with everything you see on this page.

devilstone

Devilstone Chris Juergensen Signature Model - This guitar is the newest addition to my collection. They made me this guitar to my specifications. Sperzel tuners, Gotoh bridge with KTS titanium sadlles, three vintage single coil pick-ups and a titanium truss rodd to keep it from being neck heavy. It is a great sounding guitar for a resonable price. Production starts October 2008. Here is the test recording of the guitar >>>

kurosawa G&L - This guitar is the newest addition to my collection. G&L makes great guitars and this one sounds particularly good. I've always been a Telecaster fan and although not a Fender, this guitar sounds and acts like one. It has 22 frets compared to 21 on a Fender. Like all my guitars, I've replaced the saddles with titanium ones made by Hiroshi Masuda at KTS.

betty 1990 Warmoth - I had Warmoth build me this guitar for me years ago. I used it for various session work over the years. Made of alder with a rosewood fingerboard, it has a nice balanced tone. It originally had a Floyd Rose tremolo but I had it removed and replaced it with a Fender type bridge. I also replaced the saddles with titanium ones made by KTS which keep me from breaking strings every five minutes and help focus the tone a little more. I use a Seymour Duncan '59 in the neck position and a Duncan Custom in the bridge position. The tuners are Sperzels and as you can see there are no position markers on the fretboard which causes me to screw up from time to time. This guitar has been all over the world and it is a real work horse. I call her "Betty." You can hear her on the "Prospects" CD and on the last track "Bug Lips" from the "Big Bad Sun" release.

suhr 2001 Suhr - "Betty" is so beat to crap that I bought this Suhr to take some of the weight off her. It is a similar guitar with a Gotoh bridge. The pickups are the same as Betty's but there is a single coil pickup in the middle that I don't know the brand of. Although it is mostly the same woods and design as Betty, it sounds a little different but I like it and use all the time. I have the titanium saddles installed on her also. In my opinion John Suhr makes some of the best guitars available today. By the way, this is the guitar on the cover of my recently published book: "THE INFINITE GUITAR." The strap was made by Gucci.

fender 1960 Fender Stratocaster - I bought this guitar at Voltage Guitars in Hollywood around 1995. I played her for about five minutes before pulling out my credit card. One of the best sounding and playing Strats I've ever played. I replaced the original three way with a five way, replaced the rusty saddles with the KTS titanium ones and refretted it with jumbos... can't stand them little frets. I use this on all the cuts on the "Big Bad Sun" CD with the exception of "Bug Lips." Oddly enough it is the guitar I'm playing on the jacket photo of the "Prospects" CD although I didn't use her on any of the cuts.

kts KTS Saddles - These are the KTS titanium bridge saddles on Betty. I have them installed on all my guitars. They tighten up the tone a bit and add a little more punch. They also keep me from breaking strings all the time.

egnater Egnater Pre-Amp - The Egnater amp is a great amp for recording. You can plug in different modules directly into the pre-amp chassis. The modules are real tube pre-amps and not digital modeling type units. I'm using a Marshall, Fender and Vox type module plus a custom made super clean one that they designed for me. I'm powering the pre-amp with a VHT power amp that weighs a ton and run it through a Marshall cab.

bb Xotic Effects Pedals - After using Tube Screamers for two decades, I've finally found something I like better, Xotic's BB-Preamp. It works great with my own rig but I can also dial up my usual tone no matter what amp I get stuck with on a session. It has a great singing tone and doesn't rob my guitar or amp of their natural characteristics. I definitely recommend it.

"Again, Chris makes the art of guitar playing seem effortless. A no holds barred, in your face, work of art. And that just describes my least favorite track on the CD. Think 'Texas Flood' meets 'Second Winter'." -Brent Bradley, Podshow Radio

"Re-energising the genre, Juergensen's newest release is a typhoon of raw energy, pure and honest blues rock at its finest. Just what 11 on the dial was waiting for." -Colin Meeks, Indie Launchpad

"Listening to Chris Juergensen play brings a smile to my face, it makes me feel good. So much so, I have trouble calling it 'Blues', I prefer to call it near audio perfection." -Eban Crawford, Reaching For Lucidity

"Big Bad Sun" - Traditional in nature, contemporary in sound, Chris Juergensen's Big Bad Sun is a bold departure from the blues you may be familiar with. Passionate guitar playing, good story telling plus crystalline production makes this CD destined to become a true, modern day, blues classic. Beautifully rendered and performed, guitar lovers will want to make this CD a part of their everyday collection.

"Chris is a phenomenal talent head to toe. 'Big Bad Sun' unleashes an unabashed dirty low down blues side of him that has you stompin' your feet to a killer variety of grooves. And prepare to stand back as the guitar speaks to you, alternatively ripping your head off and then caressing you." - Jennifer Batten

"Another beautiful cd from Chris Juergensen. This recording has a serious blues vibe. Chris sings and plays his ass off on this one." - Mike Stern.
